GovTech 2021: What Software is the Public Sector Buying?

We went through thousands of government RFPs to see which types of software are the most in demand.

We went through over 35,000 RFP project titles related to software over the past 24 months. These were across local, state and federal levels. We then calculated the frequency of word occurrences in the titles. The outcome of this analysis can be seen below.

No surprise that Security is a major focus for government entities right now. Online was another frequent term; from going through the RFP titles in detail, this term was associated with investment in SaaS solutions and public web portals. Finally, at the center of it all is Data. Across all levels of government, data is being embraced in a big way and we saw lots of entities investing in analytics and business intelligence solutions.
